  • Scrum Alliance Certified Enterprise Coach℠ (CEC)

A Scrum Alliance Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC) is a Certified Agile Coach (CAC) who is an expert in agile practices and theory, including Scrum. CECs have in-depth understanding of the practices and principles of Scrum, and real-world experience with actual organizational agile transformations. CECs successfully guide organizations through the challenges of agile and Scrum adoptions.

CECs have deep experience in leadership coaching, organizational transformation, and Agile practices at the enterprise level. Those who obtain the CEC certification have had years of practice, with successes and failures, in Scrum at multiple levels of engagement at the leadership level, as well as across various business functions. A CEC candidate must demonstrate experiences as a hands-on organizational change agent working across multiple team and organizational boundaries using professional coaching frameworks and practices.

As a CEC, you help companies navigate the ambitious process of becoming an Agile organization using the Scrum framework to transform the world of work. Sweeping organizational change doesn’t happen overnight and requires commitment and a shift in perspective. CECs help leadership and team members remove the barriers and embrace the transformation by helping each organization find its own path, approach, and solutions to becoming Agile. Through the Certification Via Coaching program, CECs may recommend individuals for whom they have provided 25 hours of in-person, one-on-one, or small group Scrum coaching (eight individuals maximum) for Certified ScrumMaster® and Certified Scrum Product Owner® certification. Individuals recommended for the CSM® certification must pass the CSM exam. In order to recommend individuals for the CSPO® certification, the participating CEC must hold the CSPO certification.

Define a clear product vision that ensures your product remains focused on the features your customers and end users will actually use

Communicate effectively with various stakeholder groups to achieve alignment

Identify the crucial opportunities and avoid wasting time

    Define and validate business value

Increase your credibility as a product expert and become recognized as a person who delivers real business results

  • Application process for becoming a Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®)

As an applicant, it is your responsibility to impress upon the Trainer Approval Community (TAC) that you are qualified as a CST. You should not view the application guidelines and associated templates as a certification checklist but rather as soup-starter for a great application. Applicants who demonstrate not only that they minimally fulfill the stated guidelines but have gone well beyond them in several respects are likely to find the best success. Applicants who are quick to apply, having only met -- perhaps only in their own view -- the minimum guidelines, are more likely to be rejected and have to reapply.

To become a CST, you must: Demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of Scrum concepts, practices, and principles. Hold an active Certified Scrum Professional ScrumMaster™ (CSP-SM™) or Certified Scrum Professional Product Owner™ (CSP-PO™) designation from Scrum Alliance. Have extensive hands-on experience implementing Scrum inside organizations as a ScrumMaster, product owner, or team member. Have taught Scrum in a co-training partnership with a CST or independently in a noncertified context meeting the following requirements: Taught a minimum of 100 students Hosted a minimum of 10 multi-day ScrumMaster training sessions Hold the Certified Scrum Product Owner® designation if you wish to train CSPO® courses.

  • Scrum Alliance Certified Team Coach℠ (CTC)

A Scrum Alliance Certified Team Coach® is a Certified Agile Coach (CAC) who works with Scrum teams, stakeholders, and management to improve performance and outcomes. Organizations employ Certified Team Coaches to provide coaching, facilitation, training, mentoring, impediment management, and leadership in support of collaboration, development consistency, and value delivery across one or more teams and departments.

Unlike a ScrumMaster®, a Scrum Alliance Certified Team Coach® can work across multiple teams. And unlike a Certified Enterprise Coach, a Certified Team Coach focuses on a subset of an organization in a project or program, or across multiple teams.

This certification offers a recognized credential to qualified coaches who have experience with many teams or departments and can effectively impact department, project, and program agility.

As part of the Certification Via Coaching program, CTCs may recommend up to 50 individuals annually for whom they have provided a minimum of 25 hours of in-person, one-on-one, or small group Scrum coaching (eight individuals maximum) for Certified ScrumMaster® and Certified Scrum Product Owner® certification. Individuals recommended for the CSM® certification must pass the CSM exam. In order to recommend individuals for the CSPO® certification, the participating CTC must hold the CSPO certification.
